Quilt Reveal – Good Girl Quilt #4 – The Smaller Purple One

I haven’t made this quilt in a really long time.  It’s from one of my very first quilt patterns, Good Girl.  Super quick too!  I got this one done in a weekend.

My other versions of Good Girl:

  • The first one.  All blues and scrappy and gifted to my stepson for his wedding.
  • The second one.  Purples this time and gifted to my husband’s nephew for his wedding.
  • The third one.  Blues again and much bigger this time.

  • Beginner friendly
  • Done in a weekend quilt!
  • Jelly roll friendly
  • Makes 3 different size quilts (lap, lg throw, and twin sizes)

All the shades of purple are from my scraps and stash.  The low volumes are all from the shop.

This is a commissioned quilt and I was instructed to use plums, mauves and dark grays.  I am in love with the pops of orange.  It’s a bit dark for me.  I’d have loved to use some lavenders, but you gotta do what the customer wants.  While I did get this completed very quickly, I took my time with the quilting.   Practicing my ammonites and swirls.

Do you see my violas off to the side?  I’m just as pleased with them as the quilt.

If you caught my FMQ tutorial last Friday, this is the quilt I mentioned in the video about how it’s hard to see the intricacies of the quilting with the prints.  It still feels amazing though!  But it was a lot of extra work putting that design into this quilt.  I’ll probably save it next time for something with much more solids or fabrics where the quilting can shine.  I am grateful for all the practice though.  By the time I got to my pillow top, I had the design down.

Completing this quicker quilt in the midst of so many difficult ones makes me feel good.

Also, that diagonal stripe binding!  I’ve got that fabric in two colors and I’m feeling like I’m going to be using it again real soon.
