Quilt Reveal – Little Miss Sawtooth #10 – Turquoise and Light Orange

I haven’t made a Little Miss quilt since this past January, so it has been awhile.  I forgot how pleasing this one is to make.  Unlike most quilts, I make this pattern one block at a time and that is sometimes just the way you want to work.  The pattern starts out with making all the star points in the beginning and then you move into block by block.

This one is a commission quilt, so it’s not for me to keep.  I was told to make it similar to another one I made a year or so ago.  I went with all shades of turquoise and green and then threw in a light color of orange.  I would have liked to add in some yellow gold.  Ha!  But that’s okay.  I really like how it turned out.

I did an all over quilting design on this one.  I included:  Anemones, swirls, toothpaste, puff flowers and some leaves here and there.  It took several days of hours worth of time.  I’ve been spending a lot of my down time studying free motion quilting that I like and while I know I’m getting better, I’ve got such a long way to go.  Every time I make a quilt, I try to figure out what I did that I like and what I don’t like and use it to get better.  I’m not where I want to be, but I’ll keep trying.  Still waiting on my vision and my hands to align.

The puff flowers were fun and surprisingly easy.  I’d like to do a whole quilt with them.

Something I’d like to try and do next time is put some space into my quilting.  I’ve got everything mushed and I thought it’s what I wanted, but the  more I study, the more I’d like some space.  Definitely going to try that next time I mix designs again.
