Work in Progress – Moon Goddess #3 – The Golden Bronze and blue one
I spent so much time planning this one. My step daughter is having a baby in November and her shower is this coming weekend and that’s who this one will be gifted too. I knew I wanted to make another Moon Goddess and I wanted the colors paired way down. Moon Goddess is written with scrappy in mind, so I really cut it back and used just 7 different fabrics on this one.

I wanted to make this one a bit more modern, and that’s what I was thinking when I decided to only use a few fabrics. The navy and the blues are colors that will be in baby’s nursery. As soon as I saw the golden bronze I knew I wanted to use it. I LOOOOVE that color! I’m hoping that it will blend in with her other colors too.
The quilt was screaming for fussy cutting the woodland animals and I hadn’t did that yet using this quilt pattern, so it was something I wanted to do.

I’m planning on quilting it up in the next few days. I need to hurry! I’ve got plans for some special quilting. Fingers crossed I can pull it off! I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about the HRT ruler that I designed earlier this year and having a bit more of an in depth discussion about HRTs. More on that soon. Have a good week!

I love this version!!
This version is lovely. I am sure that it will be much loved. Amazing what a difference the fabric choices make. It’s my favorite of them so far!
I like the storm at sea block pattern interspersed with the much larger block configuration. It really opens up the pattern visually without any loss of movement. A great way to fussy cut and display precious vignettes in fabric. I would likely make this with diamond rectangles as I have a preference for using a larger unseamed block (e.g. flying geese v. HST). I see you have a ruler with Havel’s. How wonderful. I have Havel’s seam ripper which is the BEST seam ripper in the world. Scythe-like, precision made and makes quick work of “unsewing”
