Pattern releases this coming Monday and the quilt along begins on the 17th. I’ll be making another of these yummies with you during the quilt along and I’m planning on going scrappy LV too. I even pulled a little HR for the occasion. 🥳 Some pieces I’ve been hanging to on for YEARS. I’m so excited!
🤎
I’m planning on giving away three PDF copies tomorrow (if you already purchased the pattern and win you can have a different pattern). More on that Saturday morning! 😘

Second pic is from sweet Roni of @clearcreekquilts . I love that she made hers in all solids, everything about it pops. I’m also loving the design with all the “claws” in the same fabric.
🤎
I am LOVING seeing all of these! 🐻🐻🐻🐻 and just love seeing how the look changes depending on the maker. Everyone has their own style and the differences make everything more interesting and fun. Don’t you think?! ☺️
For those asking, we have restocked more bundles o For those asking, we have restocked more bundles of Funshine (shown in this quilt) for #sugarbearquilt over @meanderandmake . We had to change three of the fabrics, but it’s still so pretty and orange! There’s also a background option if you are interested. If you click a background option on the site it will show you what these fabrics look like with that background, which is so helpful when you are as obsessed with shades of white solids like me. ☺️

A New Dresden Quilt Runner with Michael Miller fabrics – Sewing Finish

I’ve been an ambassador for Michael Miller fabrics since early this year and they have been sending me the yummiest of fabrics to play with, but these lovelies that arrived just a few weeks ago really had me swooning. I don’t get to make many things besides quilts, I’m obsessively focused, you see, but I’m always so thrilled when I do take the time to make a little something.  They are smaller so you can give them more umph without it taking up all of your time. One thing I don’t have much of around my house is...

Quilt Reveal – Bad Girl #3 – The Orange One from the Quilt Along

While this wasn’t the quickest and it is the third time I’ve made this quilt and in the midst I always think I’ll never finish, I’m finding this one to be the most refreshing one I’ve made.  I’m sure it has to do with the oranges and corals and peaches, but oh!  I’m feeling such joy over it!  Maybe has something to do too with the longarm quilting that was done on it too (Thank you, Tracy!) and the fact that this quilt is mine.  I’m not gifting it to someone else, I’m not saying goodbye.  It doesn’t...

Bad Girl Quilt #2 – Quilt Reveal

I finished my second Bad Girl quilt (pattern releases Wednesday!).  This time it’s in wintery blue Essex linens.  It’s got some great textures.  And those red roses in the low volume peeking out are making me squeal. Here was my first Bad Girl quilt, and you can see some of my testers versions here.  This one might appear a bit different to you.  My last one was the alternate version and this one is the original version, but I did keep the centers of my stars the same colors as the star beams unlike in my pattern.  I’m...

The Bad Girl Quilt – Quilt Reveal

It feels like it’s been awhile since I posted a proper quilt reveal.  I must not be finishing many quilts lately.  So today, I’ll be showing you my soon-to-release quilt pattern:  Bad Girl. Now there is nothing in that name other than the fact that we had the Good Girl quilt which was pretty easy and perfect for beginners or when you need a quick finish, so I felt like a Bad Girl quilt was needed to balance things out a bit.  Ha!  And she’s not easy at all, in fact she takes some time with her half...

A Pale Dresden Quilt – #7 – Quilt Reveal

I am thrilled to have my seventh Dresden plate quilt finished at last!  This time super pale!  I used fabrics from this post, plus a whole bunch of low volume squares from my stash. Just before making this one I designed my soon to come latest quilt pattern called Bad Girl.  I can’t wait to show it to you, but as I haven’t made the first block for it yet, I’ll have to wait a bit longer.  I would have already started it, but since it’s focus is mostly Dresden plates I didn’t want to start it too soon...

What is Raw Edge Applique? – Dresden Plate Quilt – #6 – Quilt Reveal

There is a lot of words thrown around by quilt makers that might leave an outsider or new quilter scratching their head.  The What Is Series is where I tackle those topics. View all articles in the series here. If you have something that you wanted covered, please let me know by contacting me here.       I feel like with this quilt I’ve hit my most dreamiest project to date.  I’m absolutely over the moon  and I’m incredibly sad to ship it off to Switzerland where it will make its home. Hand Cut Heart Quilt #7 + Free Quilt Pattern – quilt reveal + video tutorial

Today I’m showing off my 7th version of this quilt, all in blue this time, and I’m updating my tutorial of this block. I’m killing it lately with my scrap busting.  Making monochromatic quilts is the way for me for this.  Here’s what I do:  I have a basket for each color of my scraps.  All the pink and reds have a basket, all the greens, all the blues, each has their own basket.  When the basket gets full, it’s time to USE them.  If I don’t, I won’t have any place to put incoming scraps, so there’s my...

A Dresden Quilt #5 – (quilt reveal) + Free Quilt Pattern

Last week I finished my fifth Dresden quilt.  This is the second time that I’ve used small blocks as my background and also the second time that I’ve done a low volume background.  See my last quilt here. I did try some new center methods though…. I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am about this particular quilt block.  This might be the single best block I’ve ever made.  Ever. For the majority of the centers in this quilt’s Dresden plates, I used just a basic center, but I made a mistake and didn’t cut enough and...

Monday is all about fabric – #50 – Shopping your own stash + a new Dresden quilt

Yes, third week in a row I haven’t bought any fabric.  Sorry friends!  This past week I’ve been working on another custom Dresden quilt and I shopped my own stash.  Well, mostly. Go make your tea (or coffee), and let’s start gushing over fabrics!   Support a small shop Visit Needle in a Fabric Stash here.  I know I’ve featured this shop several times, but seriously, they have quite a great stock of AGF fabrics and I think you’ve figured out by now I’m kinda partial to them.  Also, how adorable is their shop in this pic (above)!  ...

A Sunset Quilt (quilt reveal) + Pattern Release

I’ve been making this quilt for years in my shop for sweet little babies.  This week, I finally got around to releasing the pattern for it. I love this quilt and its a quick make.  In the pattern, you get templates for the Dresden blades and one for the circle.  I teach you how to make a half Dresden plate.  If you are new to quilting, this pattern would be a great one to learn on. Sunset Quilt pattern is for sale here. I wanted to mention that on October 16, 2017, I will be hosting a quilt along...

My start with quilts + A Dresden Quilt #4 – ( quilt reveal )

You know I’ve been working on this quilt longer than I normally work on a quilt.  I don’t consider myself a fast worker, but I’m definitely steady.  I work at quilts on the daily.  It’s prolific for me.  A daily ritual that lasts most of the day.  I took hand quilting with me on my vacation, so ……..  I’m addicted. It’s also a job.  Does that take away some of the luster for you? I’m working on a short video for my shop.  Did you know I sell quilts for a living?  Did you know that until a...

Orange Peel Quilt #7 ( Quilt Reveal )

It feels like I’ve been working on this quilt for weeks.  Maybe I actually have been.  I posted some progress pics and a new interfacing source here last week. The steps on this quilt are a little long and repetitive so I usually break this one down into, cut a few, sew a few, cut a few, sew a few, instead of my normal cut all the things and then sew all the things.  Because one can only hover over a zig zag stitch for so long. One thing I did do differently on this one than all my...

Quilt Reveal – The Meander Hexie Quilt

You already know how much I love Heather Ross fabrics. I have quite a bit.  I have quite a bit of oldies.  I only like to use smidgeons of it, because….. Well, I like to look at it on top of the dresser that holds my stash.  It sits atop on a pedestal begging me to come pet it. So I’ll pull it out and look at all the sweet little novelty prints. I’ll admit that Rapunzel is my absolute favorite.  Her snarky face just owns me. But I’m also really taken with all the storybook characters.  And the...

Quilt Reveal – Hand Cut Heart Quilt #6

I have way too many scraps. SO. MANY. SCRAPS. You just can’t throw them away.  Heaven forbid. But if you are not using them they pile up quicker than itty bitty kittens. The trick is to use them quickly, but who can keep up with that? I got a quilt order for my Hand Cut Heart quilt. You remember it?  Here and here. I was so happy to make it. My red/ pink basket of scraps was spewing out on all sides. And I got to dig through the low volume stash. A favorite pastime of mine. I have a...
