Pattern releases this coming Monday and the quilt along begins on the 17th. I’ll be making another of these yummies with you during the quilt along and I’m planning on going scrappy LV too. I even pulled a little HR for the occasion. 🥳 Some pieces I’ve been hanging to on for YEARS. I’m so excited!
🤎
I’m planning on giving away three PDF copies tomorrow (if you already purchased the pattern and win you can have a different pattern). More on that Saturday morning! 😘

First pic is from the lovely Julie of @jules.sewsandquilts . Squee! I am crazy for Julie’s colors and the softness of her quilt. 😍
🤎
Second pic is from sweet Roni of @clearcreekquilts . I love that she made hers in all solids, everything about it pops. I’m also loving the design with all the “claws” in the same fabric.
🤎
I am LOVING seeing all of these! 🐻🐻🐻🐻 and just love seeing how the look changes depending on the maker. Everyone has their own style and the differences make everything more interesting and fun. Don’t you think?! ☺️
For those asking, we have restocked more bundles o For those asking, we have restocked more bundles of Funshine (shown in this quilt) for #sugarbearquilt over @meanderandmake . We had to change three of the fabrics, but it’s still so pretty and orange! There’s also a background option if you are interested. If you click a background option on the site it will show you what these fabrics look like with that background, which is so helpful when you are as obsessed with shades of white solids like me. ☺️

The Rescue Quilts – #1 – A Tumbler Quilt – the find and the pattern

The Rescue Quilt series is about finishing up quilt tops that were never completed and then remaking the pattern.  Sometimes I find easier / modern ways to make the quilt pattern, and sometimes I change up the pattern a bit to freshen things up. Sometimes I will offer the quilt pattern to you free, sometimes it will be a paid pattern in my pattern shop. The goal is to honor the quilt maker who made the quilt top by completing their project, to not waste good craftsmanship (usually done by hand), to ogle long ago yummy fabrics, and to...

Wandering Quilt – Nicole’s – I.am.blessed

Just in case you are not familiar with traveling quilts here is the idea: Each member of your group creates a starter block and usually writes a journal with details, theme and style they would like their quilt to end up. You send your starter block to another member in your group (usually there is a list, and you send it to the next lady on the list), they have a month to add on to your starter block and get your quilt going. Then, they send it to the next woman on the list and so on and...

Quilt Beginnings – Quote Quilt and all the supplies

Inspiration. It’s a pretty amazing feeling.  I don’t always have it, but when I do it almost feels like my mind is soaring. Ideas.  Feelings.  Excitement. There is usually a beginning. From about this past November – January, I was reading The Lord of the Rings books.  I know, I know.  I used to hate when those movies would come on TV and my husband would watch them and I get annoyed, but I really just missed ‘it’.  I didn’t get it.  Until I did. I’m not sure what possessed me to start reading the books, but it was...

Quilt Reveal – 100 days Sky quilt

So there are quilts that you make that are super quick.  There are quilts that you make to get rid of your scraps.  There are quilts that you make that you are dying to make.  Then there are slow making epic quilts.  You know the ones.  The ones that might take you multiple months, years, etc because of their complexity. The ones you start gung-ho making, then get sick of and not touch for long expansions of time, and then start working on like a mad woman because you are all in love again. This is one of those...

The Nora Hexagon quilt

This is a quilt that has been brewing in my head ever since I finished my great grandmother’s quilt. I look at her quilt everyday.  It’s still on the back of my sofa. And I wanted to re-create her quilt, but make it much more modern looking.  I also wanted to blow it up huge so it didn’t take me months and months worth of handwork.   I was thinking I’d write a pattern for this one, but it just sat there in my head and I did nothing with the idea until a few weeks ago.  I had...

Quilt Reveal – hexagon quilt #3

A little history The hexagon quilt goes by many names throughout history:  Honeycomb, Mosaic and sometimes Six Sided Patchwork.  It’s beginnings were random layouts without too much attempt at color or design. The first hexagon quilt pattern was published in 1830 in The Godey’s Ladies Book according to WomenFolk.com.  It was popular because a quiltmaker could use many tiny scraps of cloth and it was soon realized that the design possibilities were endless. By 1930, hexagon quilts had mostly ceased to be random and became patterns that we know today like “grandmother’s flower garden” or “Field of Diamonds”....

A wandering quilt – mine, the honey bee quilt

This month I start a journey with a new traveling quilt group called Wandering Quilt. I have done a traveling quilt group before in 2015 and received an incredible quilt that I never posted about.  Maybe I should post that soon.  Here is a pic of that quilt in case you are interested. That project really tested my skills.  Our group had some incredibly talented women and I doubt I measured up, but I was honored to be a part of their group. Just in case you are not familiar with traveling quilts here is the idea:  Each member...
