There is a blog post up today about Sugar Bears fabric requirements. Link in profile and stories. If you are signed up for the quilt along (mar 17), you’ll have received an email from me about all this earlier.
A bit of commission work. #scrappy9patchquilt . It A bit of commission work. #scrappy9patchquilt . It was requested that I not use much white or low volume. They have no idea how hard that was for me. 🤣🤎 I would like to make this one again, but in my colors.....

I’m still new with this ruler work. This might b I’m still new with this ruler work. This might be the third quilt I’ve given a go with it. It is painfully slow (or at least on a domestic it is) but it’s hard to not see that it adds so much. This ruler work of mine is by no means perfect, but I definitely see a little growth. I finished a couple days ago and started on the free motion (my fave, swipe to see). I’ve been working on my skills at this for not two years yet, and it fINALLY looks like the clumsy clunky me I have complained about so often has been semi-replaced with a more confident me. This feels so good. 🤎 I’m loving the work on this #sugarbearquilt . 🤎 The only way to this place tho was through, with all the palm face moments, all the annoying mistakes, all the cringeing. I’ve said before that all the “ugly” quilts are so worthwhile. Ha!
🤎
I get a lot of messages and emails about FMQ. I have a small series on the blog (tutorials>FMQ). One day I’ll chat about the ruler work on there, but I just need more practice before I do. Still there are several tutorials if you are interested.
🤎
I have about a 1/4 left of the quilt to finish with the free motion. I’m adding feathers, succulents and elongated curls. I’m enjoying myself and I hope to finish today. Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻
This is the work of the lovely talented @tracylouk This is the work of the lovely talented @tracyloukota . She’s testing #sugarbearquilt for me. 🥰 I just wanted to show you how fun the quilt can look with an emphasis on fussy cutting and with a scrappy LV background.
🤎
The pattern releases 3/8. And the quilt along begins 3/17. The pattern is currently available as a pre-order in paper format.
🤎
Alright, now let’s gush about how cute those fussies are and how Tracy is killing it!! 😍🥰💗🐻🌸👌🏻👏🏻🐻
I have so enjoyed the #anthologieqa . I wanted to I have so enjoyed the #anthologieqa . I wanted to take a moment to thank you all who participated and who made this quilt with me. Your kindness, encouragement and love to myself and others meant so much. Big hugs! 🤎

What is cheater sashing? + A Granny Square Quilt (quilt reveal)

Hey sweet quilt loving people!  The above is a bit of Fall happening outside my home and here is a bit of Fall happening inside…. This is a granny square quilt block.  You remember we went into all the details and tutorial here.  It’s one of my favorite quilt blocks and I’ve wanted to make a quilt with this block for years.  Instead of using my scrap bins for this project I’ve used men’s dress shirts.  They were sent to me by someone who wanted a keepsake of her father.  Remember the last one I did?  Working with men’s...

What is birthing a quilt? (and tutorial)

I don’t like the name of this.  Birthing a quilt.  Who named this process that?  I definitely prefer calling it the ‘inside out method’. I was asked to make a quilt without any batting, so that it would be thin for a photography prop.  And promptly decided that this would be the perfect time to check off something on my bucket list: tying a quilt A tied quilt is a quilt that you are not using needle and thread to quilt, instead you use yarn or embroidery floss and you literally “tie” it.  Click here for pictures.  They are...
