Second pic is from sweet Roni of @clearcreekquilts . I love that she made hers in all solids, everything about it pops. I’m also loving the design with all the “claws” in the same fabric.

I am LOVING seeing all of these! 🐻🐻🐻🐻 and just love seeing how the look changes depending on the maker. Everyone has their own style and the differences make everything more interesting and fun. Don’t you think?! ☺️
For those asking, we have restocked more bundles o For those asking, we have restocked more bundles of Funshine (shown in this quilt) for #sugarbearquilt over @meanderandmake . We had to change three of the fabrics, but it’s still so pretty and orange! There’s also a background option if you are interested. If you click a background option on the site it will show you what these fabrics look like with that background, which is so helpful when you are as obsessed with shades of white solids like me. ☺️

Embroidery – Basic Stitches and Skills

Embroidery is not a subject I talk about much on this blog.  We are all about our quilts, after all.  But there are places for it in quilting too.  Like applique! Anthologie is being released next month and this tutorial has been designed with that quilt in mind.  There’s a lot of applique and room for hand stitching on Anthologie and so today I’m just going to show you a few basics and some basic stitches that I know that you might find useful when you make Anthologie with me.  There’s a quilt along too, by the way,...

Applique – Perfect Circles with Aluminum Foil

I’m going to show you how to make perfect circle appliques using a method of turned edge applique that uses aluminum foil to help you get the circle perfected.  This would be the opposite of raw edge applique.  You would choose this method if you are trying to avoid having any raw edges on your work. I’m showing it to you today on a Dresden plate, but keep in mind that you can use this for any circular shape.  In fact, it’s the same method I use for the Sweet Spot blocks in Para Para. Looking for other...

Applique – Using Interfacing or Heat n Bond Adhesive

Since these two methods are so very similar, I decided to pop a video tutorial about both of them into the same post.  Before we get to that though, let’s talk about each of them and I’ll tell you what I like about each one. Please note that these two methods are for RAW edge applique. Fusible Interfacing – I use Pellon 911 mid-featherweight.  Find it in my shop here.  The interfacing will fuse to the wrong side of your fabric.  It’s a bit thicker than the adhesive, so if I’m appliqueing something light to something dark, I’m...
