Monday is all about Fabric – #68 – Some Yummy Low Volumes

What?  You don't have enough low volume fabrics in your life?  Me neither!

Let's look at a few I've put together and talk about how I never have enough of them.

The Landslide Quilt Pattern

Here’s what we are looking at today:

So you know the look I like for my quilts to have:  scrappy low volume.  Doesn't matter what colors I use in the quilt, but my background is usually scrappy low volume.  I can't seem to make a quilt without it, lately anyway.

Lately though, when I'm making a quilt and choosing my low volume fabrics for it, I've been trying to coordinate them to each other.  This bundle above was chosen specifically for how well they all played together.  Just another layer of fabric choosing, I think.

Let me know if you have been coordinating your low volume backgrounds as well.

This Week

On Wednesday, I'm sharing my latest Hand Cut Heart quilt with (fingers crossed) an updated tutorial.

Friday, I'll be talking about two threads from Superior Threads:  The Bottom Line + MicroQuilter.  I've discussed The Bottom Line in my big thread post, but I'm going to show you the difference when using a cheap thread to EPP and using the Bottom Line.  I think you'll be surprised at the difference if you've never tried it before.  The MicroQuilter is new to me.  I tried quilting with it and I'm going to show you some applique with it.  I think you'll be as impressed as I am.

Superior Threads is offering a $30 gift certificate to one of my readers in exchange for this post, so please come back Friday to read the post and learn how you can win.

Have a good week, friends!
