Soulshine Quilt Reveal | My Finished Quilt in Calm + Content Fabrics
My Soulshine quilt is finally finished!
The quilt itself has been finished for a while, but I only recently sat down to add the binding. Now that those last stitches are in, I can finally call it complete, and I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
This version is made in my Calm + Content fabric collection, and I love how everything came together. From the piecing to the custom quilting and finally the hand-finished binding, this quilt has become one of my favorites.

The Quilting
One of my favorite parts of this quilt is the custom free motion quilting.
I wanted the stars to stand apart from the background, so I quilted them separately. Each star has a flower stitched right in the center, and then I used ruler work to echo the star shape with clean, geometric lines. It gives the stars a little extra definition while still keeping the overall design soft.
For the background, I switched gears completely.
Instead of straight lines and rulers, I filled the spaces with free motion doodling using flowers, feathers, leaves, and flowing vines. I love mixing structured quilting with more relaxed, organic quilting, and I think that contrast really brings this quilt to life.

Calm + Content Fabrics
This version of Soulshine was made using my Calm + Content fabric collection, including one of the coordinating wide backs on the back of the quilt.
I always enjoy turning a quilt over and seeing the quilting from the back. Sometimes all that beautiful texture really shines when you can see it without the piecing on the front.
To finish it off, I hand stitched the binding using a chunky running stitch, one of my favorite finishing touches for a quilt like this. It adds just a little extra texture and reminds me that every stitch was made by hand.

Swayful Quilty Class – BEGINS JUNE 29
A new quilt is beginning inside Quilty Class. Swayful features a woven knot design created from rotating blocks and simple snowball construction. The pattern is fat quarter friendly for the foreground fabrics and includes a unique border that carries the movement all the way to the edges of the quilt.
We’ll begin on June 29 and work through the quilt top together step-by-step as new lessons are released.
