Monday is all about Fabric – #71 – Signature by Sharon Holland

Today’s post is part of a series on this blog every Monday.

I don’t know about you, but fabric is EVERYTHING!  I love buying it, petting it and then gushing with you about it.  I’ll show you my latest fabric purchases and where you can buy it too.

Don’t swoon.  Okay, you can swoon if you want to.  I certainly did.

This is Signature by Sharon Holland.  The moment I saw these fabrics months ago, I knew that I wanted them.  And now that I have them…….sigh.   Picture me rubbing my hands together greedily and warning off any who come near.

You know this feeling, don’t you?  Sure you do!

So get yourself settled in all cozy with a warm drink for sipping and let’s gush together once more.

Here’s what we are looking at:

Y’all, I am really excited about these fabrics.  They are perfection.  The colors!  I’m jumping up and down.

I don’t have the whole collection, there’s more.  Some bright pops of pink.  See them at Fat Quarter Shop here.  They’ve got them bundled up for easy purchasing.  I know so many of you like to purchase bundled fabrics.

I have a plan for these fabrics.  Last March on a road trip I designed a quilt pattern and when I drew it up in Illustrator I imagined it in the Signature fabrics, and used the colors of this collection in the graphics.  I cannot wait to get started.  I’ve got a few boxes to check off with other projects before I do, but I am so READY that I might not be able to wait.

I always lean to florals and tonals and that’s exactly what this collection is.  Tonals and florals and bits of low volume!  This is speaking my love language.  🙂

In the picture above I’m showing off the florals a bit more so you can see the design better.

The floral on the right is always my favorite kind of floral fabric.  I like the delicate design of it and the color.  The top one is a bouquet.  I plan on saving one of the bouquets and embroidering it and then sewing it up into the middle of a pillow.  It’s screaming for embroidery, I think.

The fabric on the far left is really cool!  It looks kind of like a collage.  I think those designs would make for great applique like we did in the Anthologie quilt in the collage blocks.

The bottom floral is such a pretty dark green.

I’m just over here drooling all over myself.

I really just LOVE Sharon Holland.  All her fabrics are just wonderful.  I’ve bought several of her low volumes by the bolt I liked them so much and use a little in all my quilts.  Like this one, and this one, and even this one.  I really want this one.

What I like the most about Sharon besides being so kind, encouraging and just lovely is that she is a quilter.  YES!  Don’t you just prefer fabric designers who quilt?  They just know exactly what we need for fabric.  Can you tell I’m fangirling a bit?  Ha!

This Week

On Wednesday I’m announcing a short and sweet quilt along with Coats & Clark.  Please come back around for that.  I’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to get all my ducks in a row to pull this off in time.  I’ve been feeling a bit spacey, which according to my kids is not nothing new.  🙁

I’m also half way through writing all my patterns for the other quilt along, I am Enough, in collaboration with Havel’s.  Find those details here.

Can you tell I’m a bit of a quilt along junkie?

On Friday, there will be a post up about some of the classes I’ve taken and would recommend from Creative Bug, which I’ve had a subscription for years and years.  I love watching sewing and quilting classes.  I’m usually watching something a couple of times each week.  Creative Bug has a special offer for their annual subscription plan that is half off right now.

And on Sunday, yes, four posts this week, is my post in the KingFisher stitch along.  I’m showing you alternatives to making the full quilt.  I’ll be showing you a mini version of the quilt, my progress on my Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt, + an extra hexie flower project for fun.

So whew!  I’m a tired girlie.  Have a good week, y’all!
