Faefolk Quilt Reveal in Everlush Fabrics

I am so excited to share the finished Faefolk Quilt Reveal with you. Faefolk is one of my most beginner-friendly patterns. It is built with straight line sewing and strip piecing, which makes it approachable for first-time quilters while still feeling exciting for those with more experience. In this post I’ll take you through the quilt, the fabrics I used, the quilting, and all the little finishing details.

The Quilt Top

For this version, I chose my Everlush fabrics. The bright pinks, teals, greens, and oranges create so much movement in the Faefolk design. What I love most about this pattern is how quickly it comes together. The quilt top only took me two to three days to make, which makes it the perfect weekend project.

Swayful Quilty Class – BEGINS JUNE 29

A new quilt is beginning inside Quilty Class. Swayful features a woven knot design created from rotating blocks and simple snowball construction. The pattern is fat quarter friendly for the foreground fabrics and includes a unique border that carries the movement all the way to the edges of the quilt.

We’ll begin on June 29 and work through the quilt top together step-by-step as new lessons are released.

If you’re planning to make quilts with us throughout the year, Quilty Club is the easiest way to follow along and access each class as we go.

Let’s make quilts…

The Quilting and Texture

Once the top was finished, I slowed down and took my time with the quilting. I stitched feathers, flowers, and pebbles all over the surface. It gave the quilt a gorgeous, crinkly texture that feels as good as it looks. On the back, I used Become the Buffalo in Sunflare, one of our newer wide backs. The oversized orange gingham plaid makes the quilting pop in such a fun way.

The Finishing Touches

For the binding, I used chunky hand stitches with perle cotton thread. It’s one of my favorite ways to finish a quilt because it adds such personality and charm. And of course, I finished with a Faefolk quilt label from Meander + Make. These labels are available for all of my patterns, and I can create them for other quilts too.
