A Quilt Maker’s Terminology

When I first started quilting back in 2008, there was so much to learn.  I’m still learning, constantly.  There is a never ending well of information to grasp in the quilting world. Learning what all the words in a pattern or blog post mean felt like it would take forever.  I’d read the quilt pattern,…

Monday is all about Fabric #9 – Katarina Roccella prints

I didn’t get much fabric in last week.  It’s been slow in that way. I did however, get a print or two. I’ve got this thing for florals.  It’s pretty serious, florals and me. And this print seriously struck me.  This is the kinda print that has me doing double takes and buckling at the…

From about this past November – January, I was reading The Lord of the Rings books.  I know, I know.  I used to hate…

Quilt Reveal – Swoon #4, A Father’s Shirts

Monday is all About Fabric #8 – Blush and Gold

I’m not sporting any new fabric collections today.  Boo!  What I do have is a random mix of fabrics in shades of blush and gold. I actually purchased these fabrics for a quilt I have to make coming up. Metallic gold is one of my favorite colors to use in my quilts. The question today…

How To Piece Like a Rockstar – Part 2 – Make Better Half Square Triangles

This post has been edited to add in this video on 10/12/17.   I want to start this off my saying that you are making a quilt. The little things really don’t matter. Like if your points line up, or if your edges are wobbly, or if you have a pinch or two in your…

My favorite thing is sitting outside and stitching My favorite thing is sitting outside and stitching and listening to the birds chirp and maybe an audiobook and a mug of coffee with a little horchata creamer..You can’t tell in the video but the finches are brave and bold this time of year. Getting super close chasing each other and I just keep waiting for one to land on me.
Can't remember if I've posted these pics here yet. Can't remember if I've posted these pics here yet. I did a little tiny room refresher. I think it made it warmer and cozier, which makes me a feel a little happier. Tiny things are the key to my happiness lately. Don't forget to find yours.Oh, I'm still looking for something to put in front of the table to hide the legs, the cords etc. I was thinking we could somehow fasten a chunk of wood and make it look more "desk-like". Someone on here suggested I make a quilt to put there (loved this idea). Do you have thoughts?
