Faefolk Quilt Class: The Perfect First Quilt

The Faefolk quilt is what I like to call the perfect first quilt. It’s beginner-friendly, fat quarter–friendly, and made entirely with straight-line sewing. Whether you’re brand new to quilting or just want a quick and satisfying project, Faefolk is designed to build your confidence and give you a beautiful quilt top you’ll be proud of….

Faefolk Quilt Top in Maple Syrup Disco

A Sweet Finish: My Faefolk Quilt Top I just finished my Faefolk quilt top using my Maple Syrup Disco fabrics, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. This is the 51″ x 51″ version, and I used Kona Roasted Pecan for the background. The Faefolk quilt pattern is a brand new design…

A Peek at My New Faefolk Quilt Top – Made with Everlush

I’ve just finished a new quilt top (Faefolk quilt top) and couldn’t wait to show it off. This one is called Faefolk, and it’s a brand-new pattern I’ve been working on. It’s not available just yet, but the pattern will be coming out later this summer. I think you’re really going to love it, especially…

This chapter focuses on organic and curved movemen This chapter focuses on organic and curved movement, where the goal is less about perfection and more about flow. Paisley, toothpaste swirls, organic squiggle lines, and S-curves all ask for a slightly different kind of attention, but together they build a really solid foundation for all-over quilting. This has been one of my favorite chapters to stitch. 👏 I really enjoyed this one.quiltyclass.com

Just work through the lessons. We will make some yuck stitches and that is OKAY! Just keep going, prettiness is on the other side of all this work.Come join us at Quilt Class if you want to quilt along. This class is available as standalone or part of the club.

In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are id In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are ideal for borders and sashing:Swirls in a borderSwirls are a classic FMQ design, but they are not the easiest to master. When I first started quilting, my swirls were always a little too pointy or just kind of strange looking. Honestly, mine still sometimes come out a little funky. That’s okay. We stitch anyway and keep building that rounded movement.Ribbon candyRibbon candy is beautiful and traditional, but let’s just say it can feel a bit hard. We try a looser approach too, and I show you a version I used in the borders of my Dilly Dally quilt that I absolutely love.Wishbone loopsWishbones are a personal favorite. I usually quilt them as a filler, especially inside flower centers. In this chapter, we take that familiar design and try it in a border space to give it a new role.Join in at Quilty Club - http://www.quiltyclub.com/
