A Sunset Quilt (quilt reveal) + Pattern Release

I’ve been making this quilt for years in my shop for sweet little babies.  This week, I finally got around to releasing the pattern for it.

I love this quilt and its a quick make.  In the pattern, you get templates for the Dresden blades and one for the circle.  I teach you how to make a half Dresden plate.  If you are new to quilting, this pattern would be a great one to learn on.

I wanted to mention that on October 16, 2017, I will be hosting a quilt along on Bari J’s blog.  Remember we took a look at her Wild Bloom fabrics here.  Every two weeks a new block pattern will release.  You can follow along there, and I will also post a reminder the day after the block patterns go live right here.  You can also follow along on IG at #barijquiltalong.  The quilt will be revealed next Monday, and will also include an introduction, fabric requirements + a little “completely new to quilting” for anyone who has never made a quilt.

If you follow me here, I’d love to see you over there!

Back to the Sunset quilt…

Finished pics

I FMQed this quilt until there was no more room!  It is the most quilting I’ve ever put on a single quilt.  This is the smallest quilt I’ve made in a very long time, so I thought I’d go for it.  It’s hard to see, but the water is meant to look like ripples and the sky has wind blowing.  See my pinterest board of FMQ ideas here.

Here’s a much better picture of the quilting.  I couldn’t stop touching this one, the texture all that quilting made was just WONDERFUL.

For the binding on this quilt, I used Weaving Sol once more for my binding (yellow again).

So maybe you have a baby to make for soon?  Or maybe to brighten up a room and hang on the wall?
