New Lessons Added: Master Half Square Triangles!
Hey there, Quilter!
I just uploaded all the lessons on the half square triangles of Carolina Mingle Quilt. You are ready to master half square triangles! If you are taking this course, sign into your dashboard and view those lessons whenever you are ready.
I’m teaching 3 different methods for 3 different size HSTs in this module of the class.
Top Tips for Half Square Triangles
- Treat them like precious babies! This means not pulling, tugging, or ironing them. They are cut on the bias, so don’t handle them until needed. The biggest thing to remember is to move your iron up and down and not to glide across them.
- Spray your fabric with pressing spray before cutting the squares needed for HSTs. I know it adds time to your overall project, but doing this vastly ensures an easier time with precision.
- Sew with a scant 1/4” seam. Honestly, use this rule anytime you make any shape in quilting that must be trimmed. This will give you more wiggle room and grace for tiny errors in sewing, cutting or drawing those lines.
