I’ve been working on something new, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you. The Soulshine Quilt Class is almost here, and starting around mid-February we’ll be sewing this playful, beginner-friendly star quilt together.

This quilt is built from two simple blocks, the Shine Block and the Soul Block. When they come together, they create bold stars, soft movement, and lots of open space that really lets your quilting shine.

You can make Soulshine two different ways.
You can go scrappy and use fat quarters for the foreground fabrics, or you can go modern and use a small set of coordinated fabrics so every block matches. Both versions are fully supported in the class, and I’ll be showing examples of each.

A Class That Goes Beyond the Quilt Top

In this class we won’t stop once the quilt top is pieced. We’ll actually quilt the quilt together.

We’ll move at a relaxed pace through fabric prep, block construction, and layout. Then we’ll focus on quilting the foreground and background differently to bring texture and depth to the design. This is a little more hands-on quilting than my usual classes, and it’s one of the things I’m most excited about.

This is not a strict quilt along and there are no deadlines. You can sew at your own pace, batch your blocks, and take your time enjoying the process from start to finish.

Soulshine can be made in three sizes, from a cozy throw to a larger bed quilt. Whether you love mixing lots of prints or prefer a calm, coordinated look, you can make this quilt fit your style.

Happening Now

Morning Rising Mini Quilt Class

A new mini quilt is beginning inside Quilty Class ✂️ Morning Rising features a double-point Dresden plate, straight line quilting, and two different quilting options for finishing your mini.

We’ll begin around May 15 and work through the project together step-by-step as new lessons are released.
