Monday is all about fabric – #21 – Liberty Society

Over the weekend, this showed up.

You know how I feel about this.  I’ve gone on and on about it many times.  It’s Liberty Society time.

I always feel ridiculously happy to see it and this bundle has not disappointed.

There is a certain green feel to this bundle, I particularly like the print at the bottom, called Donna Leigh D.  You can purchase a bundle for yourself here.

In this post, I discussed my top 10 reasons to love being a member of the Liberty Society.  I also mentioned a block I was going to make.  I have not begun as of yet.  I’m just not positive about it.  I’ve been thinking and thinking about what to do for my next Liberty Tana lawn quilt.  And the thing is that I already made this quilt which was a massive amount of low volumes, and for my next liberty quilt, I thought make it more Liberty and a little less low volume.  Something saturated in those lovely tiny florals.

Liberty Tana lawn has a delicate look about it, but after making a quilt with it, I have found that it’s not that delicate at all.  It’s a very sturdy fabric and works for both quilts and apparel.  The drape on it however, might make it easier to make curve blocks.  Or so I’m thinking.

Is anyone in the know on this?

Y’all, I am having the hardest time learning to sew curves. I’ve watched all the videos and took in all the tips, but for the life of me can’t quite get it. It either comes out wonky or has a pucker on the seam line. I keep trying and trying and I’m just not getting it.

I created this whole board to inspire me to get a move on and learn. I’m working at it.

I bought some templates for some drunkards path blocks. I’d really like to master that block before moving on to making the quilts with curves that I really want to make.

Maybe that’s exactly what I should be doing with these fabrics?
