Today we get to put everything together minus the border (saving that for next week). I love, love, love the big pinwheel in the background. It makes the whole quilt for me.
There was no twirling this week, instead I’m doing lots of loving sighs. It’s the roses, I’m sure. I know I say this everytime, but oh! How I love this one so very much.
I’ll admit to rethinking the red just a bit. I’m wondering if I should have gone gray. Red is not my color, or so my mother always told me when I tried to wear it. Oh well, we are going with it.

This Week’s Task
We got four corner blocks to get done and that center! Lots of triangles today. Plus, I’m showing you how to trim down large half square triangles that are too big for your ruler. If you are part of the newsletter, you’ve received the video tutorial. For the rest of you, here is another tutorial that you can see.
For trimming down larger squares you can use a 12.5″ square ruler or just the lines on your cutting mat. I find the ruler easier, but we don’t all have one, so just make do if you need to.
—Supplier: The Warm Company
—Type: Warm and Natural
—Fiber Content: 100-percent USA grown Cotton
—Other: Needle punched to prevent tearing and shifting, migrating or creeping through the quilt top.
There will be some pretty significant scraps left over that you could sew together and make more half square triangles with. I always do just that, trim them down to the biggest size I can get them and then store them with my cut square scraps by sizes. You never know when you are going to make a scrap quilt that they’ll come in hand for.
You can read the rules for the giveaway here. I’ll announce a winner tomorrow over on IG. You can post anything: progress, fabric choices, your cut fabrics, your coloring sheet, anything you want. The more you post, the more chances you have for winning. Use the hashtag to enter and tag me.
Coats and Clark has donated a 12-piece assorted Quilt+ thread box (you know the ones that I use religiously). Plus, I’ll be giving away another quilt label, so there will be two winners tomorrow once more.
