Golden Sawtooth Star – Emerge Circle – Quilt Reveal

Emerge Circle is a charity group I host under the umbrella of do. Good Stitches created by Rachel Hauser of Stitched in Color.  Each month a different member of our circle is lead quilter.  Lead quilter decides quilt pattern, size, colors, all the details and members of our circle send blocks to the lead quilter. …

Quilt Reveal – Moon Goddess #2 – Wildflower Fields Bundle

I can’t think of a finish this year that I enjoyed more than this one.  This was so much fun.  A sharp contrast to my last Moon Goddess when I was being all particular about my decisions.  I felt so good using these fabrics.  They were scrumptious and yummy and made the whole thing…

Quilt Reveal – Oh Honey Quilt

This is my first large finish with anything to do with English paper piecing.  And I’m feeling a sense of accomplishment, nevermind that it’s only partially EPP.  It’s still a giant finish for me and one I’m pleased to have completed. I designed this quilt last Fall in Illustrator and as always, pined away…

Quilt Reveal – Moon Goddess

Sorry for the huge delay in posting about this quilt.  I finished it about  a month or so ago.  You remember it, don’t you?  From this progress post.  It’s been quilted and finished up since then. This was my final project as a Michael Miller ambassador in February.  The quilt is called Moon Goddess. …

Quilt Reveal – Good Girl Quilt #4 – The Smaller Purple One

I haven’t made this quilt in a really long time.  It’s from one of my very first quilt patterns, Good Girl.  Super quick too!  I got this one done in a weekend. My other versions of Good Girl: The first one.  All blues and scrappy and gifted to my stepson for his wedding. The…

Quilt Reveal – Trippy Quilt #4 – Green and Orange and a Hint of Silver

I looked back and the last time I had a quilt reveal that was not a rescue was January.  It was this one.  I guess I’ve been busy with other things.  No matter!  There’s a reveal today of my fourth Trippy quilt.  I’m not going to say that I could make one that I…

In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are id In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are ideal for borders and sashing:Swirls in a borderSwirls are a classic FMQ design, but they are not the easiest to master. When I first started quilting, my swirls were always a little too pointy or just kind of strange looking. Honestly, mine still sometimes come out a little funky. That’s okay. We stitch anyway and keep building that rounded movement.Ribbon candyRibbon candy is beautiful and traditional, but let’s just say it can feel a bit hard. We try a looser approach too, and I show you a version I used in the borders of my Dilly Dally quilt that I absolutely love.Wishbone loopsWishbones are a personal favorite. I usually quilt them as a filler, especially inside flower centers. In this chapter, we take that familiar design and try it in a border space to give it a new role.Join in at Quilty Club - http://www.quiltyclub.com/
