How to FUSSY CUT Fabric for Quilting | EASY Step-by-Step Tutorial

Fussy cutting is a simple but powerful technique that allows you to highlight specific details in your fabric, creating unique and visually striking quilt blocks. In my latest video, I’m sharing a step-by-step look at how to fussy cut using a 6 1/2″ ruler, washi tape, and a Sharpie. This method helps you line up your fabric perfectly to feature the exact design elements you want in your quilt.

Fussy cutting can add charm and personality to your quilts, whether you’re showcasing florals, geometric shapes, or cute novelty prints. Here’s why you might want to fussy cut:

In this video, I also share an easy tip for removing the Sharpie marker from your ruler–just use a Qtip and a little nail polish remover, and it wipes right off!
