Holding Light Mini Quilt: Finished and Hanging

If you’ve been following along with the Holding Light mini quilt, I’m so excited to finally say… it’s finished.

This little quilt is part of my Book of Many Mini Quilts project, where I’ll be creating 16 mini quilts throughout the year. The Holding Light mini quilt is the very first one, and getting it finished and up on the wall feels like such a good start.

Finished Mini Quilt + How to Hang It | Holding Light Quilt

In this video, I’m showing you the finished quilt and how I hang it using simple corner pockets and a wooden dowel. This is one of my favorite ways to display mini quilts because it’s clean, simple, and lets the quilt really shine.

A Small Quilt You Can Finish

One of the things I love most about working on a mini quilt is how doable it feels.

This quilt finishes at about 10″ x 14″, which means you can move through it without feeling overwhelmed. It’s also a great place to slow down a bit and enjoy the details, especially when it comes to quilting.

For this one, I kept the foreground quilting very minimal and went a bit denser in the background, which gives it that soft, slightly puffy look that I always love.

In the class, we walk through everything step by step:

Part of a Bigger Project

This mini quilt is just the beginning.

Holding Light will be part of a full collection of 16 mini quilts that will come together in a book later on. Some quilters will hang these one by one, others might save them and see where they lead.

Either way, this is the first step.

Finished and on the Wall

There’s something really special about taking a project all the way from start to finish and giving it a place in your home.

It doesn’t have to be perfect (mine definitely isn’t), but it’s done, it’s hanging, and I’m really happy with it.

And now… onto the next mini.
