Monday is all about fabric – #33 – Low volumes from Bari J

First an announcement, then we can gush and drool over fabrics.

Starting today, I’m hosting a new quilt along, #bariJquiltalong.  I’ve designed a quilt called “Anthologie” (above).  Its a sampler quilt with a boho flair.  The quilt along will take place over on Bari’s website here.

I would LOVE it if you joined me in making this quilt!  There are some really great blocks and lots and lots of Dresden plates.  Plus, we are going to be giving them some very cool centers (do you see those crochet flowers below?)!

Onto the fabrics

Last week, I shared this bundle with you.  This is the bundle of fabrics I’m going to be using for the quilt along starting tomorrow, but you know me.  I needed low volumes!  Gimme, gimme, gimme!

The crochet flowers were made by my grandmother and I yesterday.  We followed a pattern we found in this book.

Let’s take a closer look!

From left to right this is :  Little Town Glee, Stitched Road in beryl, and Petit Potpourri.

Aren’t they dreamy?  I love soft whispery fabrics.

This one, called:  C’est la Vie, is simply stunning!  It’s not “that” low volume, but it’s just too pretty to pass up.  Plus, I’m going to use those pretties for some fussy cutting.

The top two (left to right) are:  Gillie Wishes and Bees & Bits.  The bottom fabrics is called Miss Thread Anew.  I REALLY like that one.  It looks like hand quilting or sashiko.  Bees & Bits is my favorite Bari J fabric ever!  I’ve got a small hoard of it.

This one is obviously not low volume at all, but I NEEDED it.  How could I not?  It’s called, Paradis Sweet.  Don’t those blooms seem to just jump right off the fabric?

And then the peacocks!  This print is called, Peacock Waltz.  I love how elegant and graceful this peacock is, and of course it’s feathers being flowers is beautiful too.

I’ll be using these fabric prints in the Anthologie quilt, along with the prints I showed you last week.  I cannot wait to get started.  Don’t forget all the fun starts later today!  I hope to see you there!
