This is a commissioned quilt and I was instructed to use plums, mauves and dark grays. I am in love with the pops of orange. It’s a bit dark for me. I’d have loved to use some lavenders, but you gotta do what the customer wants. While I did get this completed very quickly, I took my time with the quilting. Practicing my ammonites and swirls.
Do you see my violas off to the side? I’m just as pleased with them as the quilt.
If you caught my FMQ tutorial last Friday, this is the quilt I mentioned in the video about how it’s hard to see the intricacies of the quilting with the prints. It still feels amazing though! But it was a lot of extra work putting that design into this quilt. I’ll probably save it next time for something with much more solids or fabrics where the quilting can shine. I am grateful for all the practice though. By the time I got to my pillow top, I had the design down.
Pattern – Good Girl
Size – 50×60″ (this size is not in the pattern, I had to adjust to make it fit a toddler)
