Pumpkin Star Pillow: Part 1 Tutorial and Free Pattern

The Pumpkin Star Pillow is the coziest fall make on my table right now. In this post, I’m sharing Part 1 of the project and how you can sew along with me. You can grab the free pattern, watch the video, and see what’s included in the Cozy Fall Stitches class. If you love seasonal sewing and beginner-friendly piecing, the Pumpkin Star Pillow is for you.

What We Cover in Part 1

In this first half of the chapter, we go from fabric prep to a finished top ready for quilting.

  • Download the pattern and review the pieces
  • Cutting and organization tips to keep everything tidy
  • Piecing the inner star block
  • Building the pumpkin body around the star
  • Adding the stem, leaf, and borders

Part 2 will finish the pillow with basting, quilting, making the backing with zipper, and binding.
