June Studio Update: Morning Rising, Swayful, New Fabrics & What’s on My Sewing Table

This month has been full of quilt projects, fabric collections, pattern work, and a few exciting sneak peeks. I thought it would be fun to share everything that’s happening around the studio right now in one place.
If you’d rather watch than read, you can catch the full studio update here:

Morning Rising Progress Update
Inside Quilty Class, we’ve just wrapped up Chapter 4 of the Morning Rising mini quilt.
This project is part of the Book of Many Mini Quilts series, and we’ve completed the Dresden Plate portion of the design. My foundation is made, my Dresden is finished, and next I’ll be filming Chapter 5 where we’ll begin assembling everything together.
Morning Rising has been such a fun project to watch come to life, and I’m excited to move into the finishing stages.

Book of Many Mini Quilts
One of my biggest projects this year is the Book of Many Mini Quilts.
The book includes 16 mini quilt patterns featuring a variety of techniques and skill levels. The idea started because I wanted a wall filled with mini quilts. Instead of waiting for the perfect collection of patterns to appear, I decided to create it myself.
Some of the mini quilts will become classes inside Quilty Class, while others will remain exclusive to the book. I’ve also been letting the community vote on which projects they’d most like to make together.
A Sneak Peek at Growing Steady
I finished another mini quilt this week called Growing Steady.
This design features a tulip bloom with a star tucked inside, and it’s one of the projects currently planned for the book.
I’m still deciding whether this one will eventually become a class or remain exclusive to the book, but I couldn’t resist sharing a little peek.
Happening Now
Morning Rising Mini Quilt Class
A new mini quilt is beginning inside Quilty Class ✂️ Morning Rising features a double-point Dresden plate, straight line quilting, and two different quilting options for finishing your mini.
We’ll begin around May 15 and work through the project together step-by-step as new lessons are released.
If you’re planning to make mini quilts with us throughout the year, Quilty Club is the easiest way to follow along and access each class as we go.
Let’s make quilts…

Swayful Quilt Pattern Update
My next pattern release is Swayful, arriving at the end of June.
Right now, I’m spending my evenings on the sofa hand binding the quilt. The quilting stage took much longer than I expected because I had to break it into smaller free-motion quilting sessions. After a few hours at the machine, my neck usually tells me it’s time to stop for the day.
Even though it took a while, I’m thrilled with how this quilt turned out and can’t wait to share the finished pattern with you.
Last Call for June Fabric Preorders
If you’ve been waiting to grab either Milkland or Sunset Serenade, now is the time.
These collections are currently available for preorder, but this round closes soon. Both collections are returning favorites that don’t come back very often.

Must Have Flowers
One of the collections currently sitting on my cutting table is Must Have Flowers.
This collection was heavily inspired by Monet and his gardens. It feels bright, cheerful, and full of summer color. After sewing with so many warm browns recently, I’m ready for a fresh, bright quilt filled with color.
I’ll be using Must Have Flowers for our upcoming Swayful project inside Quilty Club later this summer.
First Look at Happy Home
I also shared a sneak peek of a brand-new collection called Happy Home.
This collection isn’t available yet, and you’re getting one of the earliest looks at it.
Happy Home features charming houses, cozy details, and a warm fall-inspired color palette filled with deep greens, peaches, pinks, and other comforting shades. The collection took months to draw because every little house is packed with tiny details.
I’m currently waiting on a few final samples before photography and product listings begin, but I’m already excited to start sewing with it.
