Sometimes, it’s nice to just watch the sewing happen.
I’ve been thinking about creating a quieter kind of quilting video for a while, something without a tutorial, without instructions, and without me talking you through every step. Just the simple sounds and rhythm of working in the sewing room.

A Few Quiet Minutes of Strip Piecing
For this first Quiet Quilting Moments video, I’m at my sewing machine piecing strip sets together.
That’s it.
There’s no beginning-to-end quilt project and no lesson to follow. I’m simply working through one repetitive part of the quilting process, sewing one strip after another and letting you come along for a few minutes.
There’s something incredibly satisfying about repetitive quilting tasks like this. Once everything is cut and ready to go, I can settle in at the machine and find a rhythm. Pick up a strip, sew the seam, add it to the pile, and start again.
These are often some of my favorite parts of making a quilt.
What Are Quiet Quilting Moments?
Quiet Quilting Moments will be an ongoing series featuring little pieces of the quilting process as they happen in my sewing room.
Some weeks you might find me chain piecing. Another time I might be trimming half square triangles, cutting fabric, pressing seams, free motion quilting, or doing some other repetitive task that happens to be on my sewing table that day.
These aren’t tutorials, and I won’t necessarily show the entire process of making something.
Instead, each video focuses on one small quilting moment.
There’s no talking, no music, and no instruction. Just the natural sounds of quilting.
You can watch while you have your morning coffee, put one on while you’re sewing in your own space, or simply enjoy a few quiet minutes of fabric and thread.

Supplies I’m Using
For this particular sewing session, I’m working with Happy Home fabrics and piecing on my Juki 2000.
I’m looking forward to letting this series grow naturally alongside whatever I happen to be making. No schedule of techniques to work through and no list to complete. Just little glimpses of the real work happening in my sewing room.
For today, it’s strip sets.
So settle in and enjoy a little quiet quilting with me.
