Anthologie Quilt – Working on Dresden Bohemia – #6
The posts in this series are all part of the pattern, Anthologie.ย These are not tutorials or how to videos, but are of me making this quilt.ย It’s meant to be similar to a self guided quilt along and hopefully feel like we are making this quilt together (even if you are finding this years later).ย Do tag me on Instagram (@southerncharmquilts)!ย I’d love to see what you do with it.ย ๐

To say that I’ve had fun making this section of the quilt would be a huge underestimate.ย From beginning to end, I have squealed, petted and gazed lovingly at my Dresdens.ย This is a huge section and it is time consuming, but roll with it, use fabrics you are in love with and take the time that you need.ย There’s no hurry here.ย Slow down and enjoy the process.

Dresden Bohemia Working Video
Video Summary
In this video, I start out showing you the Dresden plates I’ve already made, then I go into some quick tips on how I choose fabrics for them (please note that I’m telling you how I choose for myself, that of course is not the only way).ย I show you my Single Dresden that I’d already completed.ย I used the embroidery applique method discussed in the pattern.ย Then we get to sewing the backgrounds together and pin the Dresden plates where we want them and do some topstitching. After that I plan what I’m going to do with the embroidery, determined by the fabric I am embroidering.ย The next scene is me showing you after all the centers/faces have been appliqued on.
Once the section is completed, we get to quilt building and there is a large chunk getting completed in this section.ย Everything gets bigger.
