Anthologie Quilt – Working on Half Square Triangles – #10

The posts in this series are all part of the pattern, Anthologie.  These are not tutorials or how to videos, but are of me making this quilt.  It’s meant to be similar to a self guided quilt along and hopefully feel like we are making this quilt together (even if you are finding this years later).  Do tag me on Instagram (@southerncharmquilts)!  I’d love to see what you do with it.  🙂

This round should give you some time if you need to catch up on some of the other sections of Anthologie or maybe get a jump on the next one.  Either way, this is a little bit of a break.  You may remember that this section was not in the original pattern, but I just really love half square triangles and I think they are visually striking when on the edge of the quilt.

Video Summary

I had wanted to use this fabric in the Arrowheads, but it was too dark for where that section went.  When I started working this section, I knew that these would be perfect for it.  We immediately start making the half square triangles (you end up with one too many) and then move on to sewing them together.  There is a little quilt building in this section too.  We sew that top Attic Window section to our HST column.

For those asking, the design wall is foam core board with batting wrapped around it and taped to the back of it.  Then I nailed the whole thing up on the wall.  The blocks and quilt pieces naturally adhere and stay in place.  The nails above are there for wall basting.  I spray baste and that is why it’s a bit dusty in here.  Eek!

We are almost done!!!  I’m really excited for the next section.  How about you?

Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram and show me your progress, @southerncharmquilts and use the #anthologiequilt.

Happy sewing!
