Fabrics
I’m using Maureen Cracknell’s Cozy & Magical fabrics and they are the cutest, sweetest Christmas line! We sold out of them in our shop, but they are still available at the link above. My background is Pure Sweet Macademia.
This Round’s Task
This round we get to make: Alana, Juliana and Sofia.
Alana Block
Alana block is surprisingly easy, even if it doesn’t look like it is. It’s a bow tie block and can make quite a visual statement. Be sure to take the pattern with you to your sewing machine. it’s easy to get those snowball corners turned the wrong way. Just remember they reflect, so each one is opposite the other.
Tips:
Juliana Block
Juliana is such a little doll! She is a churn dash block, very traditional. And pretty simple too! There’s some HSTs to make, but other than that she comes together in a snap.
Tips:
Sofia Block
Sofia is hand’s down the most difficult block in the quilt and that’s the reason I saved her for last. She’s also another favorite for me. Absolutely adorable and a block that makes you think, “now how does that go together”. Read your pattern and diagrams. You put this block together at a 45* angle and then you turn it and trim it down.
Tips:
- You got this!!
Well there they all are! Squee! I so rarely make Christmas quilts, so this has really been a treat. AND maybe even time to finish it before the holiday season. 🙂
Use the #littlemisssawtoothqal to be eligible for the prizes we are giving away the day before the next round begins! I’ll be personally choosing one winner each week to receive a $25 credit to Meander + Make (worldwide) and Havel’s Sewing will be giving that same winner (US only on the Havel’s prize) a special surprise. All you have to do is post to that hashtag above. Be sure to check your spelling! And post more to have more chances.
