Para Para Quilt #3 – Spirited Version – Quilt Reveal

I’ll be talking about the Para Para quilt today. This one has sat unfinished since February/March. We had the Para Para quilt along at the beginning of the year and seems like it finished up right around the time Covid began or became widespread. I became involved with other things and the quilt top…

Morning Sun Quilt #3 – Peach + Gold Version – Quilt Reveal

Today I’m showing off my latest Morning Sun quilt and I am ridiculously excited over it. It might be my very best effort, and though, I know I usually self criticise (kindly) a lot in these reveal posts, but I won’t be doing that in this one. I am in LOVE! If you missed…

Quilt Reveal – A Dresden Quilt #8 – Pink + Peach Combo

‘   Va va voom…. well, that’s how this quilt makes me feel. Like she’s a whole lotta woman and too much for me to be lugging around especially in the weather we’ve been having. I’m talking about my finished A Dresden quilt today. A king size! Every single part of her took forever as…

Quilt Reveal – Moon Goddess #3 – The Golden Bronze and Blue one

I’m done! This one feels really good to have finished. And I’m pretty pleased with it too. I wish you could hear me berating myself during quilting only to be so pleased when I pull it from the dryer. Do you do this too? Why do we do that? I’m going to make an…

Quilt Reveal – Little Miss Sawtooth #10 – Turquoise and Light Orange

I haven’t made a Little Miss quilt since this past January, so it has been awhile.  I forgot how pleasing this one is to make.  Unlike most quilts, I make this pattern one block at a time and that is sometimes just the way you want to work.  The pattern starts out with making…

Quilt Reveal – Anthologie #2 – The Butterfly Version

The entirety of the summer I’ve been working on this quilt.  I’m both pleased and sad to be finished with it.  I almost always enjoy working on my quilts, but this one was particularly fun.  I like these “quilt-along” way of making quilts.  I like sampler quilts!  You start out with a big fat…

In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are id In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are ideal for borders and sashing:Swirls in a borderSwirls are a classic FMQ design, but they are not the easiest to master. When I first started quilting, my swirls were always a little too pointy or just kind of strange looking. Honestly, mine still sometimes come out a little funky. That’s okay. We stitch anyway and keep building that rounded movement.Ribbon candyRibbon candy is beautiful and traditional, but let’s just say it can feel a bit hard. We try a looser approach too, and I show you a version I used in the borders of my Dilly Dally quilt that I absolutely love.Wishbone loopsWishbones are a personal favorite. I usually quilt them as a filler, especially inside flower centers. In this chapter, we take that familiar design and try it in a border space to give it a new role.Join in at Quilty Club - http://www.quiltyclub.com/
