Pumpkin Runner for Fall – Sewing Finish
I am aware that this post is so late in the season and it’s screaming Fall and we are all thinking Christmas, but I only finished a day or so before Thanksgiving and I’m unwilling to NOT post about it because I just love it so much and want to share! I so rarely make little lovelies like this and I’m excited about it. And also bummed that it doesn’t get to sit on my table anymore.
The pumpkin runner is a pattern by Shabby Fabrics and you can find it here.
I did change it up a bit. I didn’t go the route with the tiny squares, I just couldn’t find the time. So instead, I just cut the pumpkin template that comes with the pattern directly fabric fabric that I had fused with adhesive (I used this). I stitched them down as I quilted them. Here’s a tutorial for how to use that adhesive.
I had so much fun with this. I definitely see more runners in my future.
All the fabrics I used were Sharon Holland’s Kismet (find them here), except the binding. For the binding, I used Pure Sweet Macademia.
I also did some yummy chunky binding stitching. I have a tutorial for that here. I think it added SO MUCH to the runner. I used this thread.
Now I just have to wait a whole other year to use the runner again. 🙂 I’m hoping there is more runners in my future. I really was pleased with the size of this one. Shabby Fabrics has a Christmas runner too.
Your runner is great. I make a lot of runners for each season. Sometimes I just want a quick project!
