Sassy Granny Quilt Along DETAILS

It’s time!

I have so been looking forward to making this quilt. I think this will be my third version of Sassy Granny that I get to make with you!

A few things before we begin…

For foreground: This pattern uses only (8) fat quarters! How easy is that to choose fabrics for?! We do have some bundles ready to go for you if you are interested and I’ll continue to be making more until we begin the quilt along. You can see my curated fabric bundles for Sassy Granny quilt right here.

I have found that smaller scale and mostly saturated prints work best in this quilt. The small squares tend to get lost if you use bigger scale. Same with choosing foreground fabrics with a similar color to your background, it just gets lost.

For background: You’ll need 3 3/4 yards if you are using a single background. All of our kits in the shop have mock ups which makes it really easy to see what the quilt will look like in a multi of background solid fabrics. We also have a substantial amount of solids to choose from if you are doing your own thing with foreground.

If you are wanting to go with a scrappy background consider looking at our Balance or Whisper bundles. I curate those to have low volumes that flow together. Just a heads up, I’d get 1/4 yard or 1/2 yard cuts if you plan on going with scrappy background. Fat quarters could work, but you’d need A LOT of them and I don’t have the math on that. 10-12 half yards will be MORE than enough for this quilt!

• WEEK 6 – June 8 – Finish quilt top
