Details about Fernweh Quilt Along!
Let’s sew Fernweh together! Come join the fun! We are offering up a 5 week quilt along with togetherness, guidance, demos, and prizes!
When – June 23 to July 21, 2023
Where – All will take place right here on the blog, by email, Youtube or Instagram.
What – We will be making the Fernweh Quilt together. You can choose between the 72″x72″, 72″x96″, or 96″x96″ sizes.

After signing up, you’ll receive all the known details about the quilt along. When more about prizes and such is known, you’ll get an update about that!
When the quilt along begins, you’ll receive your weekly email letting you know all the info for each week’s tasks.

Fabric for foreground:
- 72″x72″ – (9) half yards
- 72″x96″ – (12) half yards
- 96″x96″ – (16) half yards
We have kits available here (they do not include the pattern, backing or binding).
Fabric for background:
- 72″x72″ –
- Version 1 – 3 yards
- Version 2 – 3 1/2 yards
- 72″x96″ – yards
- Version 1 – 4 yards
- Version 2 – 4 1/2 yards
- 96″x96″ – yards
- Version 1 – 5 1/4 yards
- Version 2 – 6 yards
Here’s our schedule!
- WEEK 1 – June 23 – Choose fabrics and get everything cut and organized
- WEEK 2 – June 30 – Make 3/4/5 blocks
- WEEK 3 – July 7 – Make 3/4/5 blocks
- WEEK 4 – July 14 – Make 3/4/6 blocks
- WEEK 5 – July 21 – Finish quilt top

I’m in. I’m thinking of pulling all my purple’s and just use one fabric for the star and a solid for the background. Hope this works for the SAL.

I love the Fernweh quilt pattern. It is beautiful. I need a King size quilt. Do you have instructions for that or can you tell me how to enlarge the queen?
