TANGLE QUILT ALONG Week 4 | Block Layout Tips for Perfect Placement
Welcome to Week 4 of the Tangle Quilt Along! This week, we’re diving deeper into layout and design for your quilt blocks. I have a few block layout tips, and we’ll explore practical ways to arrange your blocks, using a design wall and tricks to achieve the right look with fabric placement and block rotation. Join me as we chat about what to look for when laying out your quilt blocks and learn creative ways to make your quilt top visually stunning.
Block Layout Tips
- Lay out your blocks on a design wall, floor, or other space. Step back often to see the whole quilt at a glance and how the colors and patterns work together.
- Spread Out Colors and Patterns: By evenly spreading colors and patterns, ensure no two similar colors or patterns are clustered together. This helps maintain a harmonious and eye-catching layout. Remember to take a step back and view your layout from a distance. This fresh perspective can reveal any areas that might feel too heavy in one color or pattern, helping you to achieve a balanced look.
- Snap a Photo: A quick photo of your layout can help you see the overall composition and identify any problem spots. Adjust as needed until you’re happy with the final look!
