Holding Light Mini Quilt Class

If you’ve been wanting a small project you can actually finish, the Holding Light Mini Quilt Class is a great place to start. This beginner-friendly class walks you through creating a mini quilt from start to finish, with a focus on keeping things simple, manageable, and enjoyable.

This is part of my Book of Many Mini Quilts project, where we’ll be creating a collection of mini quilts together throughout the year. The Holding Light quilt is our very first one, and it’s the perfect introduction to the series.

Make a Mini Quilt with Me | Holding Light Class

What You’ll Make

In this class, you’ll make the Holding Light mini quilt, finishing at approximately 10″ x 17″.

It’s a small quilt, but that’s what makes it so satisfying. You can slow down, enjoy the process, and actually complete something without it feeling overwhelming. By the end, you’ll have a finished mini quilt ready to hang on your wall.

Inside the class, we’ll:

  • piece the quilt top
  • quilt the design
  • prepare it for hanging

This is not just a quilt top class, you’ll walk away with something finished and ready to display.

Who This Class Is For

This class is a great fit if:

  • You’re a beginner or confident beginner
  • You want a quick, satisfying quilting project
  • You enjoy smaller quilts that don’t feel overwhelming
  • You love the idea of building a mini quilt wall

This class may not be the best fit if you’re looking for a full start-to-finish quilting course that includes binding, as we’ll be focusing on piecing, quilting, and hanging instead.

Fabric & Supplies

The Holding Light mini quilt uses a small amount of fabric, making it perfect for pulling from your stash or working with a few coordinated pieces.

You’ll need fabric for the background and flower, along with batting and backing. A small wooden dowel is used for hanging your finished mini quilt.

You can find a full fabric guide and supply list on the class page.

How the Class Works

This class is designed to be simple and easy to follow.

You’ll have access to step-by-step video lessons that you can watch at your own pace, along with a downloadable pattern included with the class.

We’ll begin on April 15, and new lessons will be added each week as we move through the project together. You can follow along in real time or go at your own pace, whatever works best for you.

A Small Quilt You Can Finish

There’s something really special about working on a smaller scale. You get to try new things, focus on the details, and actually see a project through from beginning to end.

This is the first of many mini quilts we’ll be making together, and I think you’re going to love how approachable and rewarding these projects are.
