Quilt Reveal – So Obsessed Quilt – deer theme
This past Thursday, I showed you my So Obsessed quilt, deer version, in progress here.
I had to make a few more deer blocks for pillow shams and used this pattern above. Another paper piecing pattern. This one came from During Quiet Time via Craftsy. Find the pattern here.
I like making shams. A thousand times easier than a quilt and go a long way in sprucing up a room. Not sure why I don’t make more. Maybe I will soon.
In Thursday’s post, I showed you the quilt almost completed. I ended with a picture of me quilting it, so all that was left was squaring up and binding.
I added a dark border because it was requested by my quilt buyer. My favorite parts of this quilt is the orange peel vine and that smidgen of low volume between the stag and the turquoise sawtooth star.
That’s an Anna Maria Horner fabric from her Loominous II line. It’s called Treasure in lipstick and can be found for sale here. I just love it.
I’d really like a dress made from the mint version here. I’m putting that on my list!
There are two orphan blocks I included in this quilt. I usually end up with MANY orphan blocks from here and there and I thought this might be a nice and sneaky way to find them a home.
Do you spot them?
It’s strawberry season here and everywhere you go, grocery stores and street corners, somebody is selling fresh strawberries at great prices.
I’ve eaten them fresh, I’ve put them on waffles, I made a strawberry cream pie, and even infused them in water to be kept in the fridge. I literally cannot get enough of them.
I quilted this quilt with my usual meander.
I backed it with an older Tanya Whelan fabric and binded with a Riley Blake print called Labyrinth (couldnt find the white and gold version).
The two deer panels that you see in this quilt are from Hawthorne Threads.
I make and sell my own labels here.
This quilt took me exactly a week to finish. I did work on a few other things within that week, but I mostly just worked on the deer quilt.
I am thrilled to have it completed and ready to move on.
I did enjoy taking the pictures.

This quilt is just so fresh, fun and beautiful. I love the final layout you chose , and think that the necessity of adding strips and bits of fabric here and there to make your blocks match up really makes the design sing. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to create these blog posts!
