The Morning Sun Quilt – quilt reveal + pattern release
The Morning Sun quilt along is coming to a close! We are done! Well, I am done and a bit early, but last month’s work was pretty simple and I didn’t want you waiting on me!
So whether you are actually finished or not is perfectly perfect. Don’t rush on my account! If you are hand quilting, take your time! If you sent your quilt off to a longarmer, all is well.
I thought I was going to add a little hand quilting to my quilt, but ended up doing something entirely different. I got obsessed with quilting on the Dresdens and figuring out how I was going to do that. Here’s a few things on my FMQ board to inspire you.
I don’t have the skills to do what some of those pins show, but I’m happy with my simple design that was inspired by those pictures.
I love the graphic nature of this quilt combined with the Dresdens. I don’t think any of my other quilt patterns do what this one does. It’s also a pretty simple quilt. I’d list the skill level around beginner to beginner intermediate. Most of the pieces are large, so there’s no tiny patchwork happening.
My Quilt Patterns
We’ve been working on this quilt since this past February and it feels good to finish it and put it away. I’ve had several requests since I stopped selling the quilt along subscription that want to get the pattern and today is finally the day I can offer you today (sorry it took longer than I intended).
Get the Morning Sun Quilt Pattern
If you will be making this quilt and not joining the already over quilt along, you may find this pattern much different than my usual quilt patterns. It’s broken up into a PDF pattern for each step and it doesn’t include cutting instructions. Instead it simply tells you the cut pieces you need.
It does feature many different blocks and patterns and if you are new to quilting, this is a good one to learn with and not get bored like the usual repeating block quilts.
