Random Sampler Quilt – Emerge Circle – Quilt Reveal

Emerge Circle is a charity group I host under the umbrella of do. Good Stitches created by Rachel Hauser of Stitched in Color.  Each month a different member of our circle is lead quilter.  Lead quilter decides quilt pattern, size, colors, all the details and members of our circle send blocks to the lead quilter.  The lead quilter finishes the quilt and gives it to a charity or person of their choosing in need.

I’ve had this one done for quite a bit.  It’s made with help from my charity group Emerge Circle of do. Good Stitches.  I had intended for the quilt to go to tornado victims affected this year in Beauregard, AL.  I believe though, unless something changes, it will end up going somewhere else.  I haven’t heard back on where to send it to.  If you know of a cause in need, let me know and I may reroute it.  It’s not fair to my group for me to be hanging on to this one and I need to get it out into the hands of someone in need.

It’s all jewels and happiness though, let’s get a deeper look, shall we?

Since this is a charity group, when I choose blocks when I’m lead, I like to keep things simple.  I told the circle that they could choose and send whatever block they wanted as long as it was 12.5″ unfinished and was in jewel toned colors.  I was pleasantly surprised at the mass effort.  Some of these blocks were crazy difficult.  All the blocks were made by the members, I didn’t contribute the blocks, I only finished the quilt.

It’s so much fun receiving the blocks in the mail, like happiness in an envelope.

I was absolutely smitten with the backing and binding choices I made.  I used Regal in Cornered for the back, along with a few other scrap fabrics I had and Greeka in Fouxia for the binding.
