Little Miss Sawtooth Quilt – #7 – The Coral Romantic Version – Quilt Reveal

So I don’t know what it is about this version of this quilt, but I am finding it one of or the most romantic quilts I’ve ever made.ย  I guess it’s just the colors, maybe.ย  The corals and oranges and bits of mint are certainly agreeing with me and the weather we are having here.

I wish you were here and we were making this one together, but on that note, and after having numerous emails and messages, I think I will be breaking down and re-doing this quilt along.ย  A bit of back story first…..

I know I’ve said this a hundred times here, the Little Miss Sawtooth quilt along was the very first quilt along I ever hosted and it wasn’t much of a quilt along at all.ย  There were no prizes, barely any participants, just a handful of people, but some that ended up becoming really good friends of mine.

The quilt was a quest to become really good at making flying geese, but also to see how easily the sawtooth star block can change just by switching out it’s center.ย  It’s also where my low volume love became what it is today.ย  Here’s the original quilt, so you can see.

In the near future, I’ll be re-doing this quilt along, but remixing the pattern up a bit and adding some new blocks and just an overall refreshing along with real PDF patterns and fabric requirements that so many of you have asked for.ย  This will take me some time to put together.ย  In the meantime, the original pattern is available for you here.ย  There’s no PDFs, just blog posts.ย  I know, I know.ย  It’s a bit annoying and I’ve heard you loud and clear.ย  Soon.ย  Promise!

Moving on, let’s chat about this quilt!ย  I made a toddler size version.ย  It has 20 blocks total, 10 stars and 10 background blocks.ย  Most of the low volumes in the background blocks came from here, but I did use scraps when I could.ย  That’s the thing about this quilt, it’s scrappy.ย  All other pieces (all of the stars) came from scraps.ย  I absolutely adore scrounging around in my scrap baskets in search of just the right fabric.
