Good Girl Quilt #8 – in Rattan – Quilt Reveal
Good Girl Quilt
Well I’m done. It took me a week or so to hand quilt it. I was shockingly surprised at how much I enjoyed that part. I only worked on it in the evenings after dinner, but every day I looked forward to it.
There I sat on the sofa, Netflix on, snuggled under this quilt and stabbing away at it. Such a dreamy thing!

About the Quilt
I made this one with very minimal low volumes as my background. I decided to mix things up on the foreground and only use one fabric. I’ve been wanting to do something very basic. I chose the Clothworks Rattan fabric and went to work. It does seem a little simple and basic, but the hand quilting really seems to add a nice gentle touch to it. I’ve put it at the foot of my bed and it’s so calming in the room.
The Quilting
I machine quilted in the background and then hand quilted in the foreground. The machine quilting actually took a long time on this one too because of all the stopping and starting to keep it just in the background.
I have free motion tutorials here if you are interested.
I have a hand quilting tutorial here.
I hand quilted with DMC #8 chunky style to make it pop. I LOVE it!
