Work in Progress – A Dresden Quilt #8 – Pink + Peach Combo

This one is a commission quilt and let me tell you it is taking FOREVER. I don’t make many king size quilts. This one measures 108″ square and every step of it is taking longer than I anticipated, which makes perfect sense since it’s so large.

Still, I’m loving watching it come together.

Pattern for this one is called A Dresden Quilt.

I’ve been working on this quilt for about two weeks now. I was given a list of colors to use and told to use my own judgement.

Pink, burgundy and mint were the requested colors. I threw a little peach orange in there as well because it seems to make everything better in my opinion. I especially love the soft peach in the background.

Most of the fabrics came from the shop, but I pulled many of these out of my personal stash as well.

Here’s some of the fabrics I used:

I’m using the Heat n Bond for my applique method for the centers of my Dresdens. They are all already heat set and I’ll quilt over them when I’m quilting the quilt to make it permanent. Since this is such a large quilt, I’ll more than likely be keeping the quilting simple and saving some of the extra for the actual plates.

I should have the top completed sometime today and quilting her up in the next day or two. Is it just me or is Dresdens the prettiest?!
