Sugar Bear Quilt #2 – Velvet fabrics – In Progress

Sugar Bear Quilt I’ve completed my second flimsy of Sugar Bear. I have so enjoyed making this one again. I think it’s a pattern you’ll end up seeing me repeat over and over. I LOVE sampler quilts! See my other Sugar Bear Quilts here: Original Sugar Bear in Funshine – Progress Original Sugar Bear…

Scrappy 9-patch Quilt – Free Quilt Pattern – In Progress

Scrappy 9-patch Quilt This is a commission quilt I’ve been working on. It was simple and fun and took no time at all really. Plus, it gave me a chance to really get a hold of that purple stash drawer of mine. It’s rammed full as I hardly ever use purples, but seem to collect…

Sugar Bear Quilt – Funshine Bundle – In Progress

Sugar Bear Quilt I designed Sugar Bear last summer (around June 2020) and I started writing the pattern the following August. It took me forever since the blocks are all so different and I was distracted by other projects, but around December the pattern was complete and I was just waiting for the moment…

Migration Quilt #5 – In Liberty + Gold – In Progress

Migration Quilt #5 I started this Migration quilt last summer, and it’s been one of the slowest going quilts  I’ve ever worked on (especially considering what an easy quilt this one is). I don’t remember why I randomly cut it up one night. I usually plan my quilts out just so, but this one was…

LaLa Fancy #2 – In Amber Folk Bundle – In Progress

I mentioned before that when I was writing LaLa Fancy, I decided to write it fat quarter friendly, but also write it using only 5 fabrics in yardage. Before Christmas, I set to work making this second version of the quilt using only the 5 fabrics: Raw Gold, Tumeric, Peach Sherbet, Georgia Peach and…

LaLa Fancy – In Pumpkin Parchment Bundle – In Progress

I finished writing the pattern for LaLa Fancy a few weeks ago. I’ve had it designed for several months now, but I had written another pattern before it, one I was working on in September, BUT once I played around with colors and fabrics, I was in too deep and had to begin this…

This chapter focuses on organic and curved movemen This chapter focuses on organic and curved movement, where the goal is less about perfection and more about flow. Paisley, toothpaste swirls, organic squiggle lines, and S-curves all ask for a slightly different kind of attention, but together they build a really solid foundation for all-over quilting. This has been one of my favorite chapters to stitch. 👏 I really enjoyed this one.quiltyclass.com
We’re playing with swirl variations this week, som We’re playing with swirl variations this week, some loose and flowy, some a little more structured. Come see Chapter 4 of Quilt As Desired class and quilt with me. I am LOVING this project!
We are stumbling through this class. Getting our p We are stumbling through this class. Getting our practice in. That is what makes you better. PRACTICE. There's no cheat code, sadly. Just work through the lessons. We will make some yuck stitches and that is OKAY! Just keep going, prettiness is on the other side of all this work.Come join us at Quilt Class if you want to quilt along. This class is available as standalone or part of the club.

In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are id In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are ideal for borders and sashing:Swirls in a borderSwirls are a classic FMQ design, but they are not the easiest to master. When I first started quilting, my swirls were always a little too pointy or just kind of strange looking. Honestly, mine still sometimes come out a little funky. That’s okay. We stitch anyway and keep building that rounded movement.Ribbon candyRibbon candy is beautiful and traditional, but let’s just say it can feel a bit hard. We try a looser approach too, and I show you a version I used in the borders of my Dilly Dally quilt that I absolutely love.Wishbone loopsWishbones are a personal favorite. I usually quilt them as a filler, especially inside flower centers. In this chapter, we take that familiar design and try it in a border space to give it a new role.Join in at Quilty Club - http://www.quiltyclub.com/
