Bad Girl Quilt #2 – Quilt Reveal

Bad Girl Quilt #2 – Quilt Reveal

I finished my second Bad Girl quilt (pattern releases Wednesday!).  This time it’s in wintery blue Essex linens.  It’s got some great textures.  And those red roses in the low volume peeking out are making me squeal. Here was my first Bad Girl quilt, and you can see some of my testers versions here. …

The Bad Girl Quilt – Quilt Reveal

It feels like it’s been awhile since I posted a proper quilt reveal.  I must not be finishing many quilts lately.  So today, I’ll be showing you my soon-to-release quilt pattern:  Bad Girl. Now there is nothing in that name other than the fact that we had the Good Girl quilt which was pretty…

Little Miss Sawtooth Quilt #5 – Quilt Reveal

My fifth version of this quilt!  And I may have cheated just a bit!  That’s okay! I know several of you have asked for this quilt as a quilt along, and I hear you, but have I mentioned this is my fifth time making it?  Until I actually do this as a quilt along…

Little Miss Sawtooth Quilt for Rachelle – quilt reveal

Well, I didn’t get them out by Christmas as I hoped, but no matter.  I promise it wasn’t for lack of working on them, but shipping to and from Alabama to Oregon (to be longarmed) and back again took longer than we anticipated. As a reminder, these are the three quilts that we (yes, WE)…

An Updated WIP List + Trip Around the World Quilt Reveal – Trippy Quilt

It’s been a tough day.  It’s been a tough week.  I’m ready to be back in the swing of usual habits and routines.  Pining for that in all truthfulness. I think we all know that there are some quilts that we begin that we don’t at all feel bad to let languish untouched for…

A Pale Dresden Quilt – #7 – Quilt Reveal

I am thrilled to have my seventh Dresden plate quilt finished at last!  This time super pale!  I used fabrics from this post, plus a whole bunch of low volume squares from my stash. Just before making this one I designed my soon to come latest quilt pattern called Bad Girl.  I can’t wait to…

This chapter focuses on organic and curved movemen This chapter focuses on organic and curved movement, where the goal is less about perfection and more about flow. Paisley, toothpaste swirls, organic squiggle lines, and S-curves all ask for a slightly different kind of attention, but together they build a really solid foundation for all-over quilting. This has been one of my favorite chapters to stitch. 👏 I really enjoyed this one.quiltyclass.com

Just work through the lessons. We will make some yuck stitches and that is OKAY! In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are id In Chapter 3, we work on three designs that are ideal for borders and sashing:Swirls in a borderSwirls are a classic FMQ design, but they are not the easiest to master. When I first started quilting, my swirls were always a little too pointy or just kind of strange looking. Honestly, mine still sometimes come out a little funky. That’s okay. We stitch anyway and keep building that rounded movement.Ribbon candyRibbon candy is beautiful and traditional, but let’s just say it can feel a bit hard. We try a looser approach too, and I show you a version I used in the borders of my Dilly Dally quilt that I absolutely love.Wishbone loopsWishbones are a personal favorite. I usually quilt them as a filler, especially inside flower centers. In this chapter, we take that familiar design and try it in a border space to give it a new role.Join in at Quilty Club - http://www.quiltyclub.com/
