Mariposa Quilt #2 – Earthy Goodness – In Progress
Mariposa Quilt
I’ve been wanting to use my Earthy Goodness fabrics in a quilt that really showcase the fabrics and Mariposa is my biggest block with the biggest pieces. Plus, I LOVE these butterflies!
If you are looking for these fabrics. They are from the collection Earthy Goodness.

Beginnings
This is such a quick and easy quilt! And it’s FUN! Like I mentioned, the blocks are just huge and you only need 6 fat quarters for the butterflies. I had the top put together in two days!
I have an idea or two for what I want to do on the quilting. I cannot wait to get to that part! Currently stalled with some demands on time, but the backing and batting are made and cut and I’m ready to go!
It was surreal to be sewing with fabrics that I designed as well. I have a couple bits of yardage left for these, but we also have it back in the shop as a pre-order if you are interested in the whole collection.
I’ve put together a seriously scrappy back with mostly leftover wide backs I’ve had in my stash. It will be something to see. Lol! I don’t normally use so many fabrics on the backing, but I was trying to use up some stash.
The background in this one is Clothworks Porcelain if you were wondering.
Beautiful, Melanie! What did you use for the body of the butterfly?
Thank you! I used nature elements in coffee. It’s in the shop. 🙂
Is that blue in your collection?
no blues. 🙂
