I’ve been busy behind the scenes gathering sponsors for our new quilt along that starts a week from today!  There’s nothing like great prizes and encouragement from your fellow quilters to help keep you on track.

If you’ve missed the announcement of the Carolina Mingle quilt along visit this page.

Giveaway Rules

Prizes will be given away and announced only on Instagram.  To enter you need only post photos of progress for your Carolina Mingle quilt and using the #CarolinaMingleQuiltAlong.  The more times you use the hashtag the better your chances.  To be eligible for prizes you must have a “public” account.  If you have a private account, consider turning it to public for the length of the quilt along or just create an account with only your quilting and sewing and make that public.  I will be choosing a winner the following day (a Saturday) after each weekly email is sent and announce it on Instagram.  To claim your prize, you can DM me your info.  Prizes are open internationally.

One thing:  Since I am choosing winners so quickly after each step, it’s okay if you are not finished with that step.  Just your progress is enough.  You don’t have to have each step completed to be eligible for the giveaways.  You could be eligible just by posting a photo of the fabrics you are using.  I don’t like the idea of stressing you out, so please don’t feel that way.  You can absolutely still be working on the first week’s work and win the prize in the third week.  So take it easy, go at your own pace, and post!

Prizes

Week 1 – Hedge Rose by Kelly Panacci 17-piece fat quarter bundle from Riley Blake

Week 2 – Twin size Warm & Natural batting pack from The Warm Company

Week 3 – 12-piece Assortment of Quilt+ Thread from Coats and Clark

Week 4 – Surprise gift from Havel’s Sewing

I can’t wait to show you the fabrics!  They are not in stores yet, but you can view them here if you like.  These are the fabrics I’ll be using myself for my Carolina Mingle quilt.  They are so pretty!  We’ll talk more about them next week though!  The batting prize is the same batting I almost always use in my quilts.  It’s my personal fave.  I always use Quilt+ thread for quilting or have since last spring.  I like the weight of it and it shows up nicely on the quilts.  I don’t have to go into how much I love Havel’s products.  I know you know, but if you are new to them, you can read this post.

One last note about this quilt:  It’s a great quilt for beginners.  There is no fussy work to it.  It’s all large pieces.  The only method that may be new to you would be the foundation piecing (not paper foundation!).  Once you get the hang of that, it’s a breeze.  This is also a great quilt if you wanted something done quickly.

  1. I’m excited to be starting this QAL. Regarding the prizes, I was hoping that the winners would be chosen at the end of each week and not at the start of each week, allowing everyone the full week to submit their progress. For example, I already missed my chance this first week as I was sick but the week isn’t over yet. Please know I’m not doing this for the prizes, I’m doing it to challenge myself in quilt making. I just thought it makes sense to choose a winner at the end of each week, not at the beginning.

    1. Thanks for the feedback! 🙂 You don’t have to be caught up to win. Any of your posts can win. We wanted a prize being given away with each week of the quilt along and not a week after.
