It’s almost time!

I am so excited to make Hello Posy quilt with you! This will only be my second time making it, and I’m antsy to get going.

Get the book if you haven’t already! The Hello Posy quilt pattern is included in it.

A few things before we begin…

For foreground: This pattern uses only (12) fat quarters for the flower petals and (1) quarter yard for the flower centers (all the centers are in the same fabric). You can see my curated fabric bundles for Hello Posy quilt right here.

These are nice large flowers, so there’s room to do some fussy cutting if you preferred that to using the fabric requirements in the pattern. I’m planning on getting a half yard of a few of my 12 fabrics so that I can get serious with my fussy cutting. You will need a little more than the fabric stated if you wanted to do the same.

For background: You’ll need 2 3/4 yards if you are using a single background. All of our kits in the shop have mock ups which makes it really easy to see what the quilt will look like in a multi of background solid fabrics. We also have a substantial amount of solids to choose from.

HOWEVER, Hello Posy was written for a scrappy background! Each block has its own border! Consider looking at our Balance or Whisper bundles. I curate those to have low volumes that flow together. Just a heads up, I’d get 1/4 yard or 1/2 yard cuts if you plan on going with scrappy background. Fat quarters could work, but you’d need A LOT of them and I don’t have the math on that. 10-12 half yards will be MORE than enough for this quilt!

WEEK 2 – August 10 – Make 6 blocks
WEEK 3 – August 17 – Make 6 blocks
WEEK 4 – August 24 – Make 6 blocks
WEEK 5 – August 31 – Make 7 blocks
WEEK 6 – September 7 – Finish quilt top
