Lately in April

Today is a random assortment of things I’ve been working on or doing this month.  I’m trying to make these end of the month posts a habit.  I like to reflect on what all I achieved or not achieved so that I don’t feel time has blown by and nothing has happened.  I want to remember.  Find all my Lately posts so far right here. April has blown by quickly and I’ve been moody through most of it.  I don’t feel like much was accomplished.  I’ve been moving in slow motion and all the goals on this month’s to-do list...

Lately in March

Today is a random assortment of things I’ve been working on or doing this month.  I’m trying to make these end of the month posts a habit.  I like to reflect on what all I achieved or not achieved so that I don’t feel time has blown by and nothing has happened.  I want to remember.  Find all my Lately posts so far right here. March has been a very difficult month for me personally and time-wise.  A tornado came through about two weeks ago and hit my daughter’s apartment, a total loss for her.  She has moved back...

Lately in February

Today is a random assortment of things I’ve been working on or doing this month. Earlier in February, I re-organized everything in my studio and one of the organization goals was to have all my WIPs in one place (read more about that here).  I have yet to work on a single one of my WIPs with the exception of a crochet sweater (The Danielle Sweater).  I’ve been doing some work each day on that.  For the life of me I can’t figure out what is up and what is down in the world of crochet wearables, but I’m...

Lately in January

Today’s post is just a random assortment of bits of things that I’ve been working on. I’ll start with this mini I made for a gift. It started with one a Bari J fabric, this one to be exact. The little bird above my mini was trimmed from the fabric, fused to my background and then I embroidered over it.  I spent one evening with the embroidery, and one evening on the hand quilting. Have you tried embroidery before?  Is it not the most relaxing thing ever?  I’m so in love with it. Several years ago I first started...

Lately – End of April, Early May

I am late with my ‘lately’ post.  Whoops! You can read the last Lately post here. I don’t like the weeks and months passing by in blurs, but sometimes it’s really hard to control. But I’ve been taking moments and purposely making them slow.  Doing with my hands, very S L O W movements.  Most of it has been hand sewing and embroidery and I cannot go on enough about how much I’ve been enjoying that.  But during April we also went on a camping trip with our nieces. We pitched a tent, cooked on outdoor grill, sat around...

Lately – the end of March

It’s the last day of March. How is that possible?  Didn’t it just become 2017?  The older I get the quicker time seems to move.  Unlike my teenagers who think a week is the longest time in the world to have to wait for something.  “It’s just a week,” I say.  Only to be met with choruses of bellyaching. Lately, I’ve been trying to capture moments of beauty around me.  Kind of a prompt to look around and SEE.  Most of them seem to be nature right now.  It’s spring here, so there is much to look at.  The...
