Work in Progress – Para Para Quilt – Finished Quilt Top

Last week I finished my first Para Para quilt top.  Finally!  Y’all, I have been dreaming about this quilt since early 2019 and now that I’ve finished it, well, finished the top, I am ecstatic.  I’m already dreaming up the next one.

I should be quilting her up in the next day or two and I’m already planning all the “extra” I plan on doing.

If you missed my previous posts about this quilt, you’ll find them below.

Forgive the lighting on this photo.  I had to use my secondary design wall and there are shadows over there.  Also, those wrinkles!  Sorry!  I was excited after putting her up and wanted a picture quickly.

I am planning a quilt along for this quilt.  I’m hoping to release the pattern late Jan – early Feb and start the quilt along fairly quickly afterwards.  I’m working on color palettes now.  See what you think of these two.  The first palette is called Violet Sky and I just cut my fabrics for it yesterday.  This will be one of the options for bundles that I’m offering.

The next one is called Berry Pie and I really want to make it too, but we’ll see what happens.   The pattern is currently with my testers and I’m just dotting all my Ts and crossing all my Is before cutting up these bundles.

I’ll be announcing registration for the quilt along early January and we will talk more about it then.  Right now I’m just about to start making video tutorials.  There will be a video for every step along the way to help out beginner quilters a bit more.  While I do consider this an intermediate pattern, that has more to do with those triangles in the middle than the rest of the quilt.  It’s a lot of seams!

If you want to see testers at work, their posts should start popping up here soon.

I’m interested in your thoughts as always, so don’t hold back.  If you have requests or preferences, let me hear them.

Have a lovely week and a lovely holiday!
