Today, we are making the flying geese section of Anthologie quilt. This is the fourth part of the quilt. We are moving right along!
I’ve been so enjoying chatting with you all over on Instagram and seeing your work so far on this quilt. It’s so much fun to see all the different interpretations of Anthologie.

We have 18 flying geese units to make this round. They are made in the 4-at-a-time method, so it goes pretty quick. They are made in two different colors, with three fabrics total. You could always go a bit more scrappy if you prefer though. They’ll be two extra flying geese!
Once the geese are completed, there is also a bit of section building to get to.
There’s some really great tips in the video tutorial for this one. There’s no reason to be trimming your geese down, and they should come out perfectly to size. Remember to use a scant 1/4″ when sewing beside the line and a full 1/4″ when you sew them together (unless they are a bit short).
Fabrics I’m Using
Loving this so much!
- I’m really into the colors and everything Amanda is doing with her quilt!
- Cathy is working ahead and I just keep swooning with every new pic. I love how wild and natural it’s all looking!
- Kate’s 9-patches make me want a quilt with all 9-patches.
- I know I featured Kirsty last week, but just wow! I’m in awe!
Don’t forget to post your progress on Instagram and use the #anthologieqa to be eligible for prizes. I’m so excited to see what you do, so give me a tag too. I just love gushing over your creations. Have a good rest of your week. I’ll see you in two weeks!
