HONEYPIE QUILT PATTERN
confident beginner
The Honeypie pattern started with a desire for a star nearly the size of a whole quilt – one giant star. I pictured it in my mind’s eye as drawn out in this pattern. Once designed, I needed more, and that’s where the other half of this pattern comes in. It’s the same block, but you can choose one giant star or multiple smaller stars. Two quilt patterns in one!
To keep things as easy as possible, I’ve written Honeypie as three separate patterns: The multi-star version comes in two sizes. And then a single-star version also comes in two sizes. Because the single-star option requires blocks of different sizes, I’ve written them as two patterns. Choose which version you’d like to make and skip to that section.
Each style uses strip piecing, which makes the quilt easier and more efficient. If you’ve never utilized this piecing method, find a detailed look here.
